It's a combination of rum and brandy that can be purchased at most liquor stores, but only during the Chistmas season.

She also told me about this great, fluffy mix that I could purchase at Albertsons grocery store. Needless to say, they only carried the batter a couple more years after that, and I haven't been able to find it since. I can't wait to try it.

You mentioned something in your message about the danger of the raw egg mixture. I'm no expert but I think the boiling water would cook the egg mixture enough to remove any bacteria. But check with an expert on this first.

Also, I was looking at recipes making royal icing for decorating sugar cookies the other day and I watched a you tube video from Julia Usher that touches on the raw egg thing. She uses pasteurized egg whitesAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09566143464679680577noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5539595809441540225.post-81811316067777831512014-06-17T14:12:05.881-05:002014-06-17T14:12:05.881-05:00Might want to try the Cowboy Cafe...been eating br...Might want to try the Cowboy Cafe...been eating breakfast in there for 30 years...best breakfast in town! If I can (mostly) stay away from Pinterest and just do what I can come up with myself, my sanity should remain intact. Also, I made that same cake for my husband's birthday last year and it was so.crazy.good! I baked it in a large Pyrex bowl as I was making a hobbit hole cake, more precisely Bag End. Though my husband had to point out to me that it couldn't actually be Bag End as I neglected to put a tree on top of the mound. Nerd. Other than that I really surprised myself with the results. Anyways, this is now my go-to chocolate cake recipe! nicole stoverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03740398657507226603noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5539595809441540225.post-26869180819199606682014-04-16T11:00:39.237-05:002014-04-16T11:00:39.237-05:00Hello,

As a blogger for the Grand Forks CVB, I love finding North Dakota recipes, and this one was a winner at our UND Men's Hockey Frozen Four viewing party. I made it ahead of time and everyone could eat according to their hockey-watching cravings (and nerves). Sadly the team wasn't as winning as your great recipe.
